There is a major housing crunch on the Big Island of Hawaii and housing costs are going through the roof. Many local families have moved off island in search of the lower cost of living on the mainland U.S. This September, Habitat for Humanity is organizing a “Blitz Build” of 10 houses in 10 days for local families, many of whom otherwise couldn’t afford to live on the island of their heritage.
